Öğe Comparison of optical properties and bond strength of new CAD/CAM ceramic materials(Iop Publishing Ltd, 2024) Demir, Necla; Bozkurt, Mehtap; Temizci, TuğbaObjective. To compare the shear bond strength values of current CAD/CAM materials and to evaluate the color changes resulting from immersion in coloring solutions. Material and Methods. A total of 160 specimens were prepared from 4 CAD/CAM blocks; lithium disilicate glass ceramic (IPS E.max CAD[EC]), zirconia reinforced lithium silicate ceramic (Vita Suprinity[VS]), polymer infiltrated glass ceramic (Vita Enamic[VE]) and hybrid ceramic (GC Cerasmart [GC]). The ceramic specimens were immersed in tea, coffee, cherry juice and distilled water solutions. Color measurements were made. To compare the shear bond strength values, all specimens were bonded to resin cement. Then the specimens were aged with 5000 thermocycling. The failure modes were classified according to stereomicroscope analysis and than scanning electron microscopy images for surface topography were obtained. Results. The color change values were significantly greater in coffee compared to other solutions and the highest color change was seen in GC and VE. The highest bond strength values were seen in VS and VE. The shear bond strength values are listed as follows: VS>VE>EC>CS. Conclusions. EC and VS can be used, especially in aesthetic restorations, due to their high color stability. Additionally, considering the bond strength values of VS, it appears to be a highly satisfactory material.Öğe Effect of thermal cycling on the flexural strength of 3-D printed, CAD/CAM milled and heat-polymerized denture base materials(BioMed Central Ltd., 2024) Temizci, Tuğba; Bozoğulları, Hatice NalanBackground: This study compared the impact of thermal cycling on the flexural strength of denture-base materials produced through conventional and digital methods, using both subtractive and additive approaches. Methods: In total, 60 rectangular specimens were fabricated with specific dimensions for flexural strength tests. The dimensions were set according to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guideline 20795-1:2013 as 64 × 10 × 3.3 ± 0.2 mm. Specimens from each material group were divided into two subgroups (thermal cycled or nonthermal cycled, n = 10/group). We used distinct methods to produce three different denture-base materials: Ivobase (IB), which is a computer-aided-design/computer-aided-manufacturing-type milled pre-polymerized polymethyl methacrylate resin disc; Formlabs (FL), a 3D-printed denture-base resin; and Meliodent (MD), a conventional heat-polymerized acrylic. Flexural strength tests were performed on half of the samples without a thermal-cycle procedure, and the other half were tested after a thermal cycle. The data were analyzed using a two-way analysis of variance and a post hoc Tukey test (α = 0.05). Results: Based on the results of flexural-strength testing, the ranking was as follows: FL > IB > MD. The effect of thermal aging was statistically significant for the FL and IB bases, but not for the MD base. Conclusions: Digitally produced denture bases exhibited superior flexural strength compared with conventionally manufactured bases. Although thermal cycling reduced flexural strength in all groups, the decrease was not statistically significant in the heat-polymerized acrylic group.Öğe Effect of thermocycling on the mechanical properties of permanent composite-based CAD-CAM restorative materials produced by additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques(BioMed Central Ltd., 2024) Temizci, Tuğba; Bozoğulları, Hatice NalanBackground: The aim of the study was to determine and compare the biaxial flexural strength (BFS) and Vickers hardness (VHN) of additive and subtractive manufactured permanent composite-based restorative materials, before and after thermal aging. Methods: A total of 200 specimens were prepared; 100 disc-shaped specimens (diameter 13 × 1.2 mm) for the BFS test and 100 square specimens (14 × 14 × 2 mm) for the VHN test. The specimens were made from various materials: two subtractive composite-based blocks (Cerasmart 270 [CS], Vita Enamic [VE]), two additive composite-based resins used for two different vat polymerization methods (digital light processing [DLP]; Saremco Print Crowntec [SC] and stereolithography [SLA]; Formlabs Permanent Crown Resin [FP]), and one feldspathic glass-matrix ceramic block (Vita Mark II [VM]) as the control group. Specimens of each material were divided into two subgroups: thermal cycled or non-thermal cycled (n = 10). BFS and VHN tests were performed on all groups. Data were analyzed with two-way ANOVA and post hoc Tukey test (α = 0.05). Results: The type of restorative material used for the specimen had a statistically significant influence on both BFS and VHN values. However, thermal cycling did not affect the BFS and VHN values. After thermal cycling, the results of the BFS test were ranked from best to worst as follows: CS, FP, SC, VE, then VM. For the VHN values, the order from best to worst was as follows: VM, VE, CS, FP, then SC. Conclusions: 3D printed and milled composite groups showed higher BFS than feldspathic ceramics. When the VHN results were examined, it was seen that the 3D resin groups had the lowest VHN values. Furthermore, it was observed that the thermal cycle had no effect on BFS or VHN. © The Author(s) 2024.Öğe Effects of printing angle and post-curing time on the color and translucency of 3D-printed temporary restoration(Mdpi, 2024) Temizci, Tuğba; Kölüş, TürkayIn resins produced with a 3D printer, the printing parameters affect the properties of the restoration produced. This study examined the effect of the printing angle and post-curing time on the optical properties of temporary restorations. A total of 135 disk-shaped Formlabs temporary resins (10 x 2 mm) were produced at three different printing angles (0, 45, and 90 degrees) and post-cured for three different times (20, 40, and 60 min) (n = 15). Color and translucency measurements were taken for each group with a spectrophotometer (VITA Easyshade V). The Delta E values between printing angles and curing times influence each other. The highest color change was observed in the groups produced with a 90 degrees printing angle. Considering the post-curing times, the highest color change was observed in the groups cured for 40 min. Increasing the curing time from 20 to 40 min decreases the translucency, whereas further increasing the curing time does not significantly affect the translucency. In terms of the impact on the translucency caused by the printing angles, 0 degrees exhibited a lower translucency compared to other printing angles. During the 3D printing of temporary prostheses, both printing angles and post-curing times can affect their optical properties.Öğe Effects of three aging methods on colour differences of all-ceramic materials(Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey Üniversitesi, 2020) Temizci, Tuğba; Tunçdemir, Ali RızaÇalışmanın amacı; iki farklı kalınlıkta (0.5 ve 1.0 mm) hazırlanan üç farklı tam seramik sisteminde, üç farklı yaşlandırma yönteminin renk değişimi (∆E00) üzerine etkilerini test etmektir. Materyal ve metod. İki farklı kalınlıkta hazırlanan Zirkonya Katana UTML (ZK), Prettau Anterior (PA) ve IPS-e.max press (EP), in vitro yapay hızlandırılmış yaşlandırma (AAA), termal döngüyle yaşlandırma (TC) ve otoklavda yaşlandırma (AA) yöntemleriyle test edilmiştir. Renk (CIE L * a * b *) değişimi üzerindeki etkileri bir spektrofotometre kullanılarak belirlenmiş ve varyans analizi (ANOVA) ile değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular. Yaşlandırma protokolleri, seramik sistemlerinin ∆E00-değerlerini farklı düzeylerde (0.64-2.69) etkilemiş ve seramik kalınlıkları istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur (P <0.5). Genellikle (0.5 mm EP grubu hariç), yaşlandırma yöntemleri arasında en yüksek ∆E00 değeri AAA uygulanan örneklerde, ardından TC ve AA uygulamalarında olmuştur. Ayrıca, yaşlandırma protokollerinin test edilmesinde seramik kalınlığının anlamlı olduğu bulunmuştur. Ek olarak, test edilen seramik materyallerin ∆E00 değerleri klinik olarak kabul edilen seviyenin altındadır. Sonuçlar. İki farklı kalınlıkta hazırlanan ve bir yıllık in vitro yaşlandırma protokolü uygulanan üç seramik türü, test edilen yaşlandırma yöntemlerinden farklı düzeylerde etkilenmiş ve tüm seramik örnekleri arasında önemli renk farklılıkları belirlenmiştir. Klinik Önemi: Üç yaşlandırma protokolünün (AAA, TC ve AA) bir yıllık uygulamaları, seramik sistemlerin ∆E00 değerlerinde (ZK, PA ve EP) önemli farklılıklara yol açmıştır. Tüm seramik tiplerinde yaşlandırma testleri arasındaki ∆E00 değerleri ile tam seramik kalınlıkları arasındaki farklar anlamlıydı.Öğe Evaluation of the turkish population's knowledge about dental implants(2024) Özmen, Elif Esra; Temizci, TuğbaAim: Dental implants have become the most preferred treatment method for tooth loss. The aim of this study is to evaluate the knowledge and preferences of individuals living in Türkiye regarding dental implants. Material and Method: In this research, a multiple-choice questionnaire was administered to assess individuals' knowledge levels and reasons for preference concerning dental implants. The survey was conducted online among men and women aged 18-79 who had never undergone implant treatment, residing in various provinces of Türkiye. The statistical analysis of the obtained data was performed using the SPSS program and the chi-square test. Results: A total of 429 individuals participated in the study, including 196 men (45.7%) and 233 women (54.3%). Of the participants, 47.9% learned about the concept of dental implants from dentists, and 57.6% reported having partial knowledge. A majority of 67.7% preferred to have implant treatment performed by a specialist dentist. 87.8% believed that dental implants are not harmful to health after treatment. Most participants indicated that the most crucial factor in the preference for implants is the dentist's recommendation (54.2%). Conclusion: This study provides significant data for understanding the knowledge levels and factors influencing the preferences of individuals regarding dental implants. While highlighting the critical role of dentists in providing information and guidance, it also underscores the need to increase awareness about dental implants among the general population. Accordingly, broader informational and educational efforts are necessary to promote more widespread and correct application of dental implant treatments.Öğe Gülüş Tasarımı Hakkında YouTube Videolarının Değerlendirilmesi(2023) Temizci, TuğbaAmaç: Son dönemde popüler hale gelen, televizyondaki değişim programlarında da sıklıkla adı geçen gülüş tasarımına ilgi giderek artmaktadır. Hastalar merak ettikleri konuyla ilgili bilgiye internet aracılığıyla, özellikle de youtube videoları ile ulaşmaktadır. Bu çalışma gülüş tasarımıyla ilgili YouTube videolarının ic?eriğini deg?erlendirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: YouTube’da arama c?ubug?una ‘gülüş tasarımı’ yazılarak, çıkan ilk 60 video incelendi. Dahil edilme kriterlerini sağlayan 50 videonun go?ru?ntu?leme sayısı, video su?resi, yu?klenmenin u?zerinden gec?en su?re, beg?enilme ve beg?enilmeme sayısı, yorum sayısı, videoyu kimin yu?kledig?i, etkiles?im indeksi ve izlenme sayısı kaydedildi. Videolar kaynaklarına göre sınıflandırıldı. İçerik kalitesini belirlemek için sekiz başlıktan oluşan puan sistemi kullanılarak videolar zayıf, orta, iyi ve zengin içerikli olarak sınıflandırıldı. Veriler Kolmogorov-Smirnov ve Kruskal Wallis testi ile istatistiksel olarak değerlendirildi. Analizlerin istatistiksel olarak anlamlılık du?zeyi p0,05). Videoların sag?ladıg?ı bilgi kalitesi değerlendirildiğinde videoların %2’si zengin, %32’si iyi, %30’u orta, %36’sı kötü olarak sınıflandırıldı. Sonuç: YouTube’da yer alan gülüş tasarımıyla ilgili videoların içeriklerinin %36’sı yetersizdir. Hastaların seçim ve tedavi kararını etkilemede o?nemli rolu? olan Youtube videolarında, doğru bilgiler edinilmesi için konunun uzmanı hekimlerce tarafsız ve kapsamlı bilgi veren kaliteli içerikler üretilmelidir.
