A note on skew Jordan triple derivations on *-rings

Özet
Let U be a 2-torsion free unital *-ring containing nontrivial symmetric idempotent. In this article, it is shown that if a map xi : U -> U (not necessarily additive) satisfies xi((A omicron B) omicron C) = (xi(A) omicron B) omicron C +(A omicron xi(B)) omicron C +(A omicron B) omicron xi (C) for all A, B, C is an element of U, then xi is additive. Moreover, if xi(I) is self-adjoint, then xi is a *-derivation. As an applications, we apply our main result to some special classes of unital *-rings and *-algebras such as prime *-ring, prime *-algebra, standard operator algebra, factor von Neumann algebra and von Neumann algebra with no central summands of type I-1.
