Nüfus ve temettüat defterlerine göre Çirmen kazası Kovancılar ve Gölcük köyleri (1844-1845)

| dc.description.abstract | Osmanlı tarih araştırmalarında, XIX. yüzyılda tertip edilmiş olan nüfus ve temettüat defterleri, sosyal tarih ve ekonomi tarihi çalışmalarında önemli veriler sunmaktadır. Bu makalede, Osmanlı Rumeli’sinde önemli bir kaza olan Çirmen kazası içerisinde bulunan ve bir Müslüman köyü olan Kovancılar ile gayrimüslim (zimmî) köyü olan Gölcük’ün demografik ve sosyal yapısı ile ekonomik vaziyeti, karşılaştırmalı olarak tetkik edilmiştir. Kullandığımız temel kaynaklar, adı geçen köylerin nüfus ve temettüat defterleridir. Buna göre 26 haneli Kovancılar köyünün temel geçim kaynağı, tarım ve hayvancılıktır. 14 haneli olan ve daha yüksek gelire sahip gayrimüslim Gölcük köyünde ise en önemli geçim kaynağı kömürcülüktür. Tanzimat’ın getirdiği yeni vergi sistemine uygun olarak her iki köyden de şer’î vergiler dışında vergi-yi mahsûsa adıyla bir vergi tahsil edilmiştir. Tanzimat’ın, herkesin gelirine göre vergi verme prensibinin Rumeli’deki bu iki köyde uygulandığı görülmüştür. Nüfusu daha az olan Gölcük köyünün toplam yıllık geliri, Kovancılar köyünden daha yüksektir. Gölcük köyü, toplam yıllık gelirin çoğunluğunu kömürcülükten elde etmektedir. Oysa Kovancılar köyünde toplam yıllık gelirin yarıdan fazlası, tarım ve hayvancılıktan sağlanmaktadır. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | In the studies of Ottoman history, population and dividend books prepared in the XIX century provide important data in social and economic history studies. In this article, the demographic and social structure and economic status of Kovancilar, a Muslim village, and Golcuk, a non-Muslim (zimmi) village, located in the Omen district, which was an essential district in Ottoman Rumelia, has been examined comparatively. The primary sources we use are the population and dividend hooks of the said villages. Accordingly, the main livelihood of Kovancilar village of 26 houses is agriculture and animal husbandry. In the non-Muslim village of Golcuk, which has 14 houses and has a higher income, coal is the most important source of income. Under the new tax system introduced by the Tanzimat, a tax named apportioned tax was collected from both villages, apart from religious taxes. It is observed that Tanzimat's principle of taxation in accordance with everyone's level of income was applied in these two villages located in Rumelia. The total annual income of Golcuk village, which has less population, is higher than Kovancilar village. Golcuk village obtains the majority of its total annual income from coal mining. However, more than half of the total annual income in Kovancilar village is obtained from agriculture and animal husbandry. | en_US |
