| dc.description.abstract | Pergamon Kingdom commited the biggest role in the establishment of the Roman policy for Eastern Mediterranean and in the administrational arrangement they planning to set up in Anatolia. This Kingdom had been the biggest political actor in the eastern policy of Rome, which was established on the delicate balances. Thanks to the status they granted to Pergamon after the Apameia Peace, the Romans could rule Anatolia for a long time in their own interest without taking any responsibilities. On the other hand, Pydna War brought a vast change in the eastern policy and diplomacy understanding of Rome. Until the said war, Rome was establishing a balance in its own interests boyunca supporting the local associates against the Hellenistic states. When the last of the Hellenistic states, Macedonia disappeared with the said war, Rome started to follow an invasion policy in the East. The aim of this article is to provide a historical insight into the role of Pergamon within the Anatolia policies of Rome during the Hellenistic Period and the stats of Rome-Pergamon relations in shaping Anatolia. | |
