| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışmanın amacı, Niğde merkezde bulunan 5 ayrı öğrenci apartında çalışan kadınların işgücü piyasasındaki deneyimlerini ve bunun toplumsal rollerine etkisini etnografik yönteme göre araştırmaktır. Bu doğrultuda, Ekim 2021 ve Haziran 2022 tarihinde katılımcı gözlem ve 2022’nin Şubat ve Mart aylarında 13 çalışan kadınla derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Araştırma neticesinde kadınların maddi imkânlarının yetersizliğinin işgücü piyasasına katılma sürecinde birincil rol oynadığı görülmüştür. Çalışma yaşamı, kadınların toplumsal benliğini inşa etme biçimlerini değiştirmektedir. Kadınlar kamusal alana dâhil oldukça bireysellikleri, sosyalleşmeleri ve özgüvenleri de artmaktadır. Çalışma yaşamı kadının güçlenmesinde etkin rol oynamasına rağmen ev içi işlerde iş bölümünün olmamasından dolayı toplumsal rollerinin değişmesi yönünde bazı dirençlerin olduğu da görülmüştür. İşlerine dair problemlerle baş etmede kadınlar iki strateji gütmektedirler: 1) probleme odaklanmak ve çözülene kadar çaba göstermek; 2) problemin işverene taşınması durumunda sessiz kalmak. İşten çıkarılma korkusu susma nedenlerinden sayılabilir. Çalışma ortamında takım ilişkisinin olduğu, işverenin erkek olduğu durumlarda etkileşimlerin mesafeli, işverenlerin kadın olduğu durumlarda birincil ilişkilerin kurulduğu ve öğrencilerle duygusal emeği ifade eden ailevi bağların tesis edildiği keşfedilen bulgular arasındadır. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | This study using an ethnographic research method, aimed to explore the experiences of women working in 5 separate student hostels located in the center of Niğde in the labor market and the impact of this their social life. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with 13 working women in February and March of 2022, as well as participant observations (on October 2021 and June 2022). The findings of the research show that the lack of financial opportunities for women plays a primary role in the process of participation in the labour market and that working life changes the way women build their social self. As women are included in the public sphere, their individuality, socialization, self-confidence increase and they feel stronger, but due to the lack of domestic division of labor, they encounter some resistance in changing their social roles. Women have two strategies for dealing with work-related problems: 1) to focus on the problem and strive until it is resolved, 2) to remain silent when the problem is disclosed to the employer. Fear of dismissal can be considered one of the reasons for their silence. It is found that there is a team relationship in the working environment, the interactions are distant when the employer is male, primary relations are established when the employers are female, and familial ties are formed with the students, which can be seen as a form of emotional labor. | en_US |
