Öğe Determination of the communication skills of the professional football teams in Turkish super league(Sila Science, 2012) Şahan, Hasan; Ulukan, Mehmet; Temel, Veysel; Ulukan, Hasan; Şahin, AhmetThis study investigates the communication skills of the footballers who play in Professional teams (Konyaspor, Kayseri Erciyesspor and Bursaspor) in Turkish super league in 2010-2011. The participants included 76 footballers from Professional teams (Bursaspor, Konyaspor and Kayseri Erciyesspor) in Turkey. Firstly present data, related to the aim of the research, is given systematically by scanning literature. Thus the theoretical frame is formed about the subject. At the end of the study, it is understood that footballers' communication with coaches, managers and between each other is very important to door to the success and achieve a common goal. At the end of the study, the study showed that if there was a good communication among footballers or the others (coaches, managers and footballers), it means that there would be success in the performance. On the other hand, the results indicated that if there was a lack of communication between footballers and coaches or the others in the club, footballers in the team would play a losing game. Hence, the communication among them influences the teams' success and enhances the team's performance. Performance athletes and high performance athletes realize that good communication is important for high level sports.Öğe Determination of the leadership styles of the trainers(Sila Science, 2012) Ulukan, Mehmet; Şahan, Hasan; Yıldırım, Yunus; Yıldız, MustafaThe aim of this study is to research by determining the leadership styles of the trainers who trained individual athletes in the amateur sports clubs. The surveying group consists of 64 trainers who train the individual athletes, working in Karaman and Konya provinces of a country, Turkey. Firstly, present data, related to the aim of the search, is given systematically by scanning literature. Thus, a theoretical frame is formed about the subject. At the end of the study, it is observed that trainers work in Konya and Karaman and train individual sportsmen behaving autocratic leadership. Besides, when there is a meaningful relation between gender and class, there is not a difference between social comparison levels and gender levels. It can be said with this information that women trainers give more importance to sensitive devotion to provide labor unity than men by tending like a family.Öğe An investigation of relation between the school administrators' leadership style and communication skill(Academic Journals, 2011) Temel, Veysel; Ulukan, Mehmet; Şahan, Hasan; Bay, Murat; Şahin, AhmetThe aim of this study was to find out the relationships between leadership styles and communication skills of academic staff in the administrative function at the University of Karamanoglu Mehmetbey. Participants (faculty members and teaching staff) included 40 males and 16 females. We used the survey method in this study. Firstly, present data, related to the aim of the research, was given systematically by scanning literature. Thus, a theoretical frame was formed about the subject. T-test and analysis of variance (ANOVA) test were used for analysis of data. The result of the study indicated that administrators who had good communication with teaching staff displayed democratic leadership behavior. Besides, it was found out that administrators over 30-40 age have better communication skills than the others. And also, the study shows that administrators, working for a long time at the same university, displayed democratic leadership and better communication skills. Democratic leadership style leaves a positive impact on morale and satisfaction. Thus, a high correlation was found between leadership behavior and communication skills.Öğe Primary school students' level of participation in sport in terms of different variables and the relationship between the level of participation and communication skills(Elsevier Science Bv, 2012) Ulukan, Mehmet; Dalkılıç, Mehmet; Baskan, GA; Özdamlı, F; Kanbul, S; Özcan, DIn this research, the relationships between the level of participation of the primary school students in sports activities and their communication skills in terms of different types of variables are studied. This study obtains some findings from the questionnaire preferred as the research method. The first part of the questionnaire improved by the researchers consists of 8 items and focus on the personal information of the students who participate in the survey. The second part of the questionnaire prepared in the study includes 7 items and it determines the level of participation in sports activities. The last part of the questionnaire of the study contains 45 questions developed by Ersanli and Balci (1996) in 'Communication Skills Inventory' to assess the students' communication skills. The population of the study consists of 603 female university students in the various faculties of Gaziantep University, Akdeniz University, Mersin University and 19 Mayis University of whom 323 do sports and of whom 280 do not do sports. For the study's aim, socialization scale was used. For the analysis and interpretation of the data, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Mann-Whitney U test and Two Way ANOVA test were used and the significance was taken to be p < 0.05. SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) was used for the evaluation of the data and finding the calculated values. As the result of the study, the socialization levels of the students who do sports were found to be higher than the socialization levels of the students who do not do sports.
