| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışmada, Dünya nüfusunun büyük bir bölümünü ilgilendiren bir gerçeklik olan engelli olma durumu, Kemal Tahir’in Köyün Kamburu adlı eseri üzerinden ele alınacaktır. Çalışma, 2007 yılında tamamlanmış sosyolojik bir çalışma ve 1959 yılında kaleme alınmış bir edebi eser ile Türkiye’deki engellilik olgusunu ele alan detaylı, bilimsel bir yaklaşım sergilemektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, sosyolojik bir çalışmanın sonuçlarını, bir edebi eser örgüsü içerisinde ele alınan olaylar ve tutumlar ile karşılaştırmak ve edebi eserin engelliliği yazınsallaştırma biçimini incelemektir. Farklı zaman diliminden ve türden eserlerin seçilmesi, hem edebi eserin güncelliğini koruması hem de konunun geniş bir zaman dilimini ilgilendirmesinin bir avantajıdır. Sosyolojik çalışmanın anket sonucunda ulaştığı bilgiler sadece o gün için geçerli cevaplar değil, tarihsel ve kültürel birikimin o güne yansımalardır. Dolayısıyla çalışmanın sonunda ulaşılması gereken cevaplardan biri de bu iki eserde hangi değerlerin benzer, hangilerinin farklı olduğudur. Bilim ve sanatın ortak paydasından hareketle, bu çalışma, Türk kültüründe engelliliğin alımlanışını gözler önüne koyacaktır. Bu hedef doğrultusunda engellilik çalışmalarında önemli bir konuma sahip olan sosyal model çıkış noktası olarak kabul edilmiştir. Edebi eserin, engelliliğin sosyal modelinin temel vurgusunu içerdiği görülmektedir. Seçilen çalışmaların farklı coğrafyalardan ve farklı disiplinlerden olmasına rağmen bu ortak noktaların var olması, engelliliğin evrensel bir deneyim olarak adlandırılmasına yol açar. Bir diğer ortak nokta ise sosyolojik çalışmanın aktardığı engelli bireylerin deneyimlerinin, edebi eserin ana karakterin gelişim sürecinde de söz konusu olmasıdır. Bu deneyimler özetle engelli bireylerin dışlanması, acınması, utanılması, alay edilmesi, cinsel kimliğinin yok sayılması, aciz görülmesi ve suistimal edilmesi olarak sunulabilir. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | In this study, the situation of being disabled, a fact that concerns a large part of the world will be discussed through Kemal Tahir's work titled Köyün Kamburu. This study takes a detailed scientific approach in discussing the phenomenon of disability in Turkey through a sociological study done in 2007, with reference to a literary work penned in 1959. The aim of this study is to compare the results of the 21st century sociological survey with that of events and attitudes expressed in a 20th century literary work and to examine the way disability is literalized. Selecting works stemming from different time periods and genres offers two-pronged advantage of both keeping the state of literary work up-to-date, as well as maintaining the subject's relevance across a broader period. The information obtained by the sociological survey does not merely reflect answers, which are valid in that period, but also reflects historical and cultural accumulation up until that time. The goal at the end of this study is to examine which values are similar and which are different in these two works. Based on the common ground of science and arts, this study aims to reveal the perception of disability in Turkish culture. In line with this goal, the social model, which has an important place in disability studies, has been accepted as the starting point. It seems that the literary work emphasizes mainly on the social model of disability. Although the selected studies are from different geographies and disciplines, the existence of these common points allows the interpretation of disability as a universal experience. Additionally, another common point is that the experiences of people with disabilities, as conveyed by the sociological survey, are also included in the development of the main character of the literary work. These experiences are presented in the form of social exclusion, pity, shame and ridicule, neglect of their sexual identity, incapacity as well as the abuse of disabled individuals | en_US |
