This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief due to concerns about the integrity of the research reported. Following the publication of the Corrigendum (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2468606924000789) the Editor-in-Chief received additional concerns about Figure 3e and the provided data. In brief: 1. The 3 curves are unusually similar in the short wavelength range below 480 nm and appear identical in the 550–850 nm after applying scaling and offset2. The digitization step size of the curves differs and its relative change is unusually similar when considering (1)3. The curves in the data file does not appear to correspond exactly to the published figureThe corresponding authors were contacted for comment about the above-mentioned concerns and Mustafa K.A. Mohammed provided a reply. In the reply the author stated that they no longer have access to some of the original data files for Figure 3e. This, combined with the new concerns about the similarity in curves, has raised doubts for the Editor in Chief on the reliability of the data presented in the paper. In light of the above, the Editor believes that the most responsible course of action is to retract the paper. Apologies are offered to the readers that this was not detected sooner. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd
