dc.description.abstracthe aim of this study is to evaluate the mediation role of life engagement in resilience and trauma levels of individuals experiencing the earthquake on February 6, 2023 in the city of Kahramanmaraş in Türkiye. The sample of this descriptive and correlational study included 1406 individuals. The questionnaire data was obtained through Google Forms and other data collection tools were Socio-demographic Information Form, Trauma Level Determination Scale, Short Resilience Scale and Life Engagement Scale. To analyse the data, frequency (percentage, arithmetic mean) and correlation analyses were used. Depending on the findings of the study, the resilience and trauma levels were negatively correlated, whereas the resilience and life engagement levels were positively correlated. Furthermore, the life engagement levels were negatively correlated with trauma levels while they were positively correlated with resilience. It was found that the life engagement played an mediation role in resilience and trauma levels of individuals experiencing the earthquake in Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye. In this study, we found that the life engagement has an important role in resilience and trauma levels of individuals. We are of the opinion that the findings of this study might help researchers and conductors to plan and perform effective strategies for post-impact phase of an earthquake.
